“I would like to share some good news with you about my son Jonathan who graduated from the Y preschool program. Jonathan is in 3rd grade at Lansing Elementary school and is on the Honor Roll. His math score is greater than 99% of students nationally in the same grade!! And his reading is at an 8th grade level in the 98th percentile!!! So proud of him! I thank the Y for my children's excellent early education!!!!!"
“There is a FANTASTIC preschool/child care center called Women’s Community Y in Leavenworth, KS. They are located about one to two miles from Fort Leavenworth and both of my children attend preschool and daycare there. My 2-year-old daughter LOVES it there and my 4-year-old son LOVES it there. The appearance of the facility may throw people off since it has a ‘home’ atmosphere but trust me, they have TOP NOTCH teachers that care for your children and nurture them. My daughter was in the daycare portion for six months before she turned 3 and moved to preschool twice a week. Even in the daycare time period, they are still doing preschool activities such as a science center, dress-up play area, etc. They even work on their alphabet, phonics, etc.! We have been to other CDC’s during our 14-year career in the military and other daycare facilities (four total) since we’ve had our children. My son is in the afternoon preschool and he LOVES it! He is writing his name and spelling other classmates’ names! Their summer program is PHENOMENAL! We’ve never seen a summer program this invested in our children! This is by far the most educational and nurturing environment for our children. We even had some behavior issues with our son, mainly due to my husband’s deployment, and other child care centers switching out teachers and helpers EVERY WEEK. So you never knew who their teacher was on a daily basis. At the Y, they are consistent and pros when working with children and early childhood development. I HIGHLY recommend them! They are a hidden gem in Leavenworth!

“When my husband and I needed to find daycare for our 3-year-old in 2010, we didn’t know what to do. We were unable to get him into the CDC on post and we had had a bad experience with a daycare home. We decided to check out the Women’s Community Y based on their NAEYC accreditation. We were impressed the moment we walked in. It has all of the benefits of a large center, but the atmosphere feels like a home. As someone who works with kids, it is very obvious to me that the staff is there because they truly love the kids. This isn’t just a job to them. The positive changes that I have seen in my son are a testament to the outstanding program at the Y.”
